What we all have in common is that we have witnessed the pain of children who suffer in silence and we have experienced the frustration of not knowing how to help. We have come together to form a community to help one another and our children. We share experiences and knowledge, fulfilling our mission to promote public awareness, to research and educate about Selective Mutism, and to speak out for our children who can’t speak for themselves.

Our Goal is to keep you up to date with the newest research and information about: OCD, Panic, Selective Mutism, Separation Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety, PTSD, Trichotillomania, Specific Phobia, and conditions that can occur with childhood anxiety, Depression, ADHD, DSI. We want CAN to be an informative and interactive site, so please feel free to get involved.

  4. National Alliance for Autism Research. The National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR) is the first organization in the U.S. dedicated to funding and accelerating biomedical research focusing on autism spectrum disorders. Established in 1994 by parents of children with autism concerned about the limited amount of funding available for autism research, NAAR was created in a spirit of optimism and excitement over the opportunities for accelerating the pace of autism research. This spirit continues to guide the organization today, enabled by recent advances in the neurosciences and other scientific fields. NAAR is a 501 (c) (3) organization - contributions which are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. 

  5. Florida Psychoanalytic Institute Society Foundation. The Florida Psychoanalytic Institute, Society and Foundation maintain an office, an extensive psychoanalytic library, and a classroom at 420 South Dixie , Suite 2F, Miami, Florida 33146. All three are nonprofit corporations and share common goals: To provide training in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, in accordance with the standards for such training, as established by the American Psychoanalytic Association. To establish and maintain accredited educational organizations in the field of psychoanalysis. To promote research in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis. To provide opportunities for professional growth and collegial activities. To foster the dissemination of psychoanalytic knowledge and the integration of psychoanalysis with allied fields and professions. To facilitate the availability of affordable psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to the community.

  6. The Southeast Florida Association For Psychoanalytic Psychology. The Southeast Florida Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology (SEFAPP), formed in 1987, is a local chapter of the Division of Psychoanalysis (Division 39 of the American Psychological Association). SEFAPP is a scientific and professional organization promoting excellence through quality continuing education for all mental health professionals, professional development, and the scholarly exchange of ideas. SEFAPP is a multi-disciplinary interest group dedicated to furthering the study and application of broad-based psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and the methods of psychoanalytic inquiry through the sponsorship of conferences, symposia and workshops on clinical issues, theoretical papers, and ongoing research by members and recognized experts in the field. Each month SEFAPP sponsors conferences available to both members and the community at large. These conferences focus on a wide variety of topics including sexual abuse, anti-Semitism, and varying therapeutic approaches to the treatment of patients and usually feature nationally and internationally prominent psychoanalysts.
